This page is to discuss some inconsistencies and Shenanigans from
the Isles of Bayshore CDD.

What’s the Lakes by the Bay South Community Development District (CDD)
The CDD is the association that controls the common areas of Isles of Bayshore, including the clubhouse.

CDD

The document attached give us the cost of placing the x-mas lights in the entrances, clubhouse, and other common areas. The entrance to each individual sections like enclave, the palms, etc… is decorated and paid by that association.

Keep in mind that this costs are for RENTAL of the decorations, the clubhouse does not own them.

Based on last year approved spending, the CDD spent $50,102.00 not in buying lights, but for renting them!!!
One item I’m having issues with is the lighted elves that are placed in top of the entrance or the clubhouse. They cost a whopping $840-$900 to rent each elf. Don’t know about you, but I can light my whole house with less than that. Looking for x-mas elves the most expensive TO BUY was around $500.00 So $850.00 to rent seems like a rip-off.

With that said, maybe the elves are magical and that’s why the additional $350.00 for them, so let’s pick an item that we can do apples to apples.

60’ of C7 12” Spacing with warm white LED Bulbs.
Our Contracted Cost: $330.00
Amazon Cost of 100’ of the same lights: $151.20

Sockets

Right there we are getting ripped more than $200.00 in one item.

Again, we are renting those lights we are not buying them.

If we go line item by line item I believe we can get the same result for half the price, and we would actually even own the lights… yes, some of them would get damage year to year, but if we can at least savage 20% of the lights, we will be still saving money.

Then it comes the 20’ Majestic mountain Pine Tree which costs us $6,000 TO RENT!!!!. See the attached file to the right.
I found the exact same tree at a cost of $8,792.00 TO BUY. (Second link in a google search, pretty sure we might get it cheaper if we really do a good research)

Tree

Again during storage some lights might go out, but at the second year it will be far cheaper to replace any damaged lights that to RENT a tree again. If we only use that tree for 3 years, we would have saved around $8-$9K in tree rentals.
